SOMA and Music Alumni! Come Home to Tyrrell Hall 5:00–7:00 p.m. October 24

All TU School of Music Advocates (SOMA) members and TU and music alumni alike are invited to join in the fun on the Tyrrell Hall green outside the main entrance. We’ll have a tent with some light refreshments, and the music faculty will be there to say “hi” and join in celebrating their great success in growing music enrollment for three straight years with the help of SOMA.

SOMA members have done an extraordinary job over the last two years to help revitalize the School of Music.

The all-new SOMA Winds, conducted by Tom Stout, will play its First Benefit Concert in the TU Lorton Performance Center at 7:30 p.m. October 14. Please make plans to be there for a great wind ensemble concert and to support this Tulsa community ensemble and SOMA!

Thanks to your efforts and generosity, not only has the number of music majors taken a huge jump, but the marching band is just shy of 100 players this year and sounds great in the stadium!

Don’t take my word for it, come see and hear for yourself! Director Matt Schepers and his 2025 Sound of the Golden Hurricane will be our honored guests and will perform outside Tyrrell Hall for everyone to celebrate at about 6:00 p.m. October 24.

Music at TU continues to get bigger and better. Let’s all keep the momentum going and show our continuing support at Homecoming Tyrrell Hall!
